Adam Levine Covers Men’s Health, Credits Yoga With Making Him More Successful
His band’s catchier-than-a-cold songs, his unforgettable falsetto and his role as a coach on ‘The Voice‘ didn’t make Maroon 5 singer and this weekend’s ‘SNL‘ host Adam Levine the mainstream success he is today. That credit goes to — drumroll, please! — yoga. Yes, yoga.
Levine covers the March issue of Men’s Health, showing off his tattoos and his trim and toned body. He looks so good and is doing so well because he practices yoga. It’s really that simple, huh?
“It’s made me more successful,” Levine said about the practice. “I love it and don’t know what I’d do without it.”
Yoga is certainly a challenge for the energetic Levine, since he has “a hard time sitting still. I can be all over the map. Yoga has given me the ability to be more focused and make better decisions that come from a clear place.” Sounds like it’s working for him, though.
Despite sounding like someone who spouts off the standard yoga clichés, Levine insists he isn’t that. He won’t fall prey to wearing certain yoga-approved clothes or eating yoga-associated foods.
He also spoke about his personal style, explaining why he prefers vintage items. “I tend to go for clothes with a classic feel. But I also want them to have a story, a history, some meaning,” he says. “I don’t want to buy a T-shirt and then go out to lunch and see someone else wearing the same thing. I want my clothes to be unique. Not necessarily expensive, just one of a kind.”
Sort of like the singer himself.
He may exude confidence and cockiness at times, but Levine does show a bit of his humble nature, saying, “I’m not a great performer; I’m just uncomplicated,” he confessed . “And I say this to the contestants on ‘The Voice': The biggest thing is confidence — not false confidence but real confidence.”
