Living in Bangor is pretty awesome. However, there's been a few times the Queen City has made national headlines for not so awesome reasons...

- Remember back in 2013 when Bangor Police investigated reports of a woman walking around Pickering Square carrying what appeared to be fetus inside of a plastic bag. Yeah, that was weird. Well the story made its way around the internet, from Huffington Post, to Complex.

- Also in 2013, we had the worst 4th of July parade...EVER. It all started with a dude (see mug shot above) shooting a few rounds out of an apartment window causing police standoff. Because of the situation the parade had to be rerouted. According to this CNN article we weren't the only city who had an awful 4th that year.

- File this under taking things way too seriously. Who can forget this past holiday season when a Bangor High School teacher had to remove a pink Hello Kitty Christmas tree from her classroom. After Catherine Gordon's Facebook post went viral and made national news, the school reversed its decision.

- Not very embarrassing for the citizens of Bangor, but maybe for Mick Brown. Bangor popped up in Rollingstone and news casts all over the rock n' roll world when Ted Nugent's drummer was arrested after a drunken golf cart joy ride. He was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger, theft and assault.

- Remember when Bangor introduced the world to Bath Salts? There's plenty of news stories featuring the freaky side effects of the drug with Bangor as the backdrop. This video went viral. Welcome to Bangor, come hang! Pants optional.
