A 4-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained in an accident that also killed his grandfather.

WLBZ-TV reports the accident happened Friday night on U.S. Route 202 in Windham. A minivan driven by 65-year-old Dennis Brackley of New Gloucester crossed the center line and smashed into an SUV driven by 33-year-old Adrian King of Windham. Brackley died at the scene. His grandson, Gavin Brackley, died at the hospital Saturday morning.

Also injured in the crash was Brackley's granddaughter, age 5, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition. According to a GoFundMe page, set up by family friend Melanie Craig, Alexa Brackley is making progress, but her 'recovery road is long.'

King, who was driving the vehicle struck by Brackley's minivan, and his passenger, 27-year-old Samantha-Jo Brink, were taken to the hospital and listed in satisfactory condition.

The crash remains under investigation but police say no charges are pending.
