3 Injured in Home Invasion

State Police responded to a report of people being held hostage in a home invasion Saturday night. Three people received minor injuries and the people responsible are still at large.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the call came in at around eleven o’clock Saturday night for a home invasion on Garfield Road in the town of Minot.  The 911 caller said that a number of people with guns were assaulting the residents. The owner of the house, Ross Tardif, was not home when the attack happened.

Troopers were able to locate the three victims, who had fled the home. Cyril Anduze of Auburn, Jamel Horrobin of New York City, and Rullah James, also of New York City said they were in the house when three masked men broke in. They told police the men assaulted and robbed them. All three had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

McCausland says, during the investigation, drugs, money, and firearms were seized from the home. Maine Drug Enforcement agents and members of the Auburn Police Department assisted in the investigation.

Police continue to investigate to try and determine who was responsible for the home invasion. Further details are expected to be released later this week.
