A man from Connecticut and a couple from Bangor are facing charges in connection with the sale of heroin and crack cocaine.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the arrests followed a several-month-long investigation into the sale of heroin and crack cocaine in Bangor's Coe Park neighborhood. Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and Bangor Police have been investigating the out-of-state importation and sale of the drugs from a George Street apartment. During the investigation, undercover agents were able to purchase crack cocaine from residents of the apartment.

A search warrant was executed late Thursday night at 24 George Street. Five people were inside the residence when police arrived. Seized in the raid were heroin and crack cocaine with a combined street value of approximately $6,000, as well as $6,500 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

Three people were arrested:

  • Roosevelt Brown, age 32 of Stamford, Connecticut - charged with Class 'A' Aggravated Trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine. The charge was elevated to 'aggravated' because the residence is within 1000 feet of a designated 'drug free save zone.' Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
  • Lynn Cook (aka 'Mama Lynn'), age 52 of 24 George Street in Bangor  charged with Class 'A' Aggravated Trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine. The charge was elevated to 'aggravated' because the residence is within 1000 feet of a designated 'drug free save zone.' Bail was set at $20,000 cash. In addition, Cook has 7 outstanding warrants for her arrest.
  • Thomas Anderson, age 53 of 24 George Street in Bangor - charged with Class 'A' Aggravated Trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine. The charge was elevated to 'aggravated' because the residence is within 1000 feet of a designated 'drug free save zone.' Bail was set at $20,000 cash.

All three were taken to the Penobscot County Jail. MDEA Commander Peter Arno says the arrests are the latest example of out-of-state drug dealers targeting Maine communities by setting up shop in local homes. More arrests are possible in this case.
