Two men have been charged in connection with a meth lab in a Lewiston apartment.

Maine Drug Enforcement agents and Lewiston Police spent the day at an apartment located at 333 Lisbon Street, in the downtown area. Officials were following up on information of meth manufacturing at apartment 203 just after midnight Friday morning.

Items consistent with a meth lab were discovered at the apartment, so the residence was secured, and approximately 20 people were evacuated from the building. The MDEA Clandestine Laboratory worked today with safely clearing the building.

Charged with manufacturing meth are 29-year-old Joseph Marcous, who rents the apartment, and 28-year-old Samuel Johnson. Both were taken to the Androscoggin Jail.

This is the sixth meth response by MDEA this year.
