A car ended up in a ditch along Copeland Hill Road in Holden after the driver of the vehicle swerved to avoid an oncoming car on Tuesday, police said.

“They were driving toward each other and one car was in the wrong lane, and caused the other car to spin around and end up in the ditch,” Holden police Chief Chris Greeley told the Bangor Daily News.

Three people were inside the vehicle that went off the road and landed on its side. One person suffered minor injuries was taken to a Bangor Hospital.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that was in the wrong lane didn't stop, and they're now looking for that person.

“It happened so quickly that the only description they could give was that it was a silver or white car,” Greeley said.

The accident remains under investigation.
